After several disappointing listing photo shoots, we decided to hire a professional. Not only does it free up our time to do more real estate and income-producing activities, the results are 100 times better than what we could have produced on our own. The photos on the left were taken by us with a point and shoot camera. The photos on the right were taken by a professional with a much fancier camera and several accessories.

Our goal is to get as much traffic into the house as possible... not to make the house a disappointment to buyers and their agents. We want the home to look even better in person.

We will be utilizing the services of a professional photographer for every listing in the future. What a great investment! To learn more about the difference professional photography can make, contact Allison, a Gainesville Realtor.

As a photographer it looks like they used a wide angle lens and yes the photos do look better and full of objects, etc., in the rooms.

Hi Allison,

I agree that generally the "professional" pictures look better, which is what you would expect. :)

Being an amatur photographer/Realtor, pass on some of pointer for improvements in future picutres...we don't want to have the pictures "full of objects"; -- we like to DECLUTTER.  In the bathroom pic, he did remove the clutter of bottles on the vanity, but left them in the shelf above the toilet...Also in the bedroom shot, the items in the foreground end table should be removed.

This is interesting, to say the least. Except for the living room, bathroom, and kitchen shots, I really couldn't tell that much of a difference. Seriously. But you do make a valid point that hiring a professional photographer frees up your time for more activities.

It is WELL worth the money we are paying. These photos are from 1 of 3 aspiring pros that we interviewed/tried out. I agree they are not perfect but they are a lot better than what I could do on my own and they sure do free up some time.

Allison,  I definitely can see the difference.  Your photos were very good -- much better than most agents take, but the pro added quite a bit more by using the wide angle.  If possible, it would be nice to have a little less clutter, but there is a limit to what we can do or can get our sellers to do.  Thanks for sharing.
